A Locket of No Particular Significance will captivate you from the first page. I grew up on fairy tales of all sorts. I've always been fascinated by them and the fae. I think that, in part is what drew me in. The story is well paced, although not action packed, with moments that will make you tear up and moments that will have you giggling. The prologue alone is a wild ride, and the story that follows does not disappoint.

The first thing that I would say to anyone thinking about reading this book is not to judge a book by its cover. A Locket of No Particular Significance was an interesting read, the story being intricate and well written, with very descriptive writing. What I will forever remember about this book is the prologue. The writing was exceptional and it reminded me of The Night Circus, by Erin Morgenstern, which is a VERY GOOD THING. Also, I loved Versillion as a character and how he managed situations, as well as how his character changed emotionally throughout the book.

With all the good things that came with this book, there were certain parts that I did not like as much. For example, around half way through the book, I started to get bored because the story was moving at a pace that was too slow for my liking. Also, I would have liked for there to have been more descriptions of all the characters not only in a physical way, but also in an emotional way.

Overall, I would say that this is a good book if you like a slow paced fantasy story set in a historical time that includes its fair share of action.
