Marion Stanton is a special needs teacher, AAC (augmentative and alternative communication) practitioner and mother of three children, including Dan who has cerebral palsy. This is a very informative book appropriate for parents and professionals who work with people of all types of abilities. It is focused on services in the UK but often sites similar services in US and has a country by country reference list. The author is a special education teacher and has a son with CP. It covers early development, augmentative communication, daily living, education, after school issues, and relationships. It is very thorough and honest. There are many great websites throughout for more information. I am recommending my workplace order this book for further reference.… (más)
