Bucky's heart froze. Even in the darkness, you recognize the two gamblers. "You played a pretty good game in there, kid. And we've collected good loot on you boys this year. But now were ready to make a final score. And we are leaving anything to chance."

"You want the Panthers to lose? You know I won't do it." He glared at Bill. "Tell 'em!"

Bible writers often used in the ordinary things of life illuminate their lessons about eternal life. James spoke to us about ships' rudders and olive trees. Paul, about soldiers' armor and the Olympic Games. Jesus, about lost sheep and lilies of the field. With humor and keen insight, baseball fan David Smith leads us from his favorite sport into some of the lessons it teaches us about spiritual things.
