Joe Leigh Simpson

Dr. Joe Leigh Simpson is Senior Vice President for Research and Global Programs at the March of Dimes. He was formerly Executive Associate Dean for Academic Affairs at Florida International University's Wertheim College of Medicine in Miami.

He is board certified in medical genetics as well as in obstetrics and gynecology. Dr. Simpson has conducted research on genes that cause premature ovarian failure and on recovery of intact fetal cells and cell-free DNA from maternal blood for the purpose of noninvasive prenatal genetic diagnosis. He's written 15 books and over 700 scholarly articles and chapters.
