What can I say? I received this as a Goodreads Giveaway, and so far had been pleasantly surprised by the quality of writing of the books. Unfortunately, this was not one of those times. I highly recommend the author to put a little more substance into the book. The premise is that the American ideal is a lie--and has been since the assassination of JFK. This book is a conglomeration of political myth and conspiracy theory mixed with bad journalistic questions. While the dialog is supposed to be witty, it's just difficult to follow. I think that if there were more description of political, economic, and social issues that effect the outcome, this would be a really good political thriller. As is, it's like a first draft of a novel outline.

As the author of The Dangerous Dream, I highly recommend it.
