Each story was moving, sweet and engaging through descriptions of strong emotions of love, history, and faith.

Collection is excellently written; very compelling that I would like to read fuller, novel length versions of each story.

A detailed account of a refusenik's family's struggle to emigrate from Russia set in 1970s and 1980s Moscow and beyond, well-written and great for readers interested in the subject. It also works well as a slice of Russian life and coming of age story.
