- Jim received his Bachelor of Arts and his Master of Arts degrees from Abilene Christian College. He began preaching on the island of Guam while in the Navy. Jim was a gospel preacher for 60 years preaching for Churches of Christ. He is also the son of Gospel preacher for Churches of Christ, Cato Aisquith Sheerer (1902-1991) listed in Preachers of Today, Vol. 3, 1964, p. 173.
