The first part recounts the development of China until the 18th century. The second part narrates the humiliating experience of colonialism. Part three explore China under Mao, part four under Deng and part five (the weakest part) recalls recent developments up to 2003.

Although the work is focussed on political and economic aspects, it offers a good introduction to Chinese civilization.… (más)
