Season 3 is the best one of Enterprise as the Xindi plot is a running theme and gives it a bit of oomph. Knowing the end made it less involving second time around and the oh so obvious real life conections to war on terror.
But it at least has fewer completely boring episodes as a result.

Series 2 improves a bit but is still far too dull at times. And the get T'Pol to get her kit off as often as possible bit gets old really quickly.
At least they realised they were on a highway to nowhere and introduced the Xindi storyline at the end - which makes series 3 considerably better from what I remember.½

A spaceship crew explores the galaxy.

It's a lot better than the first season, but that's not saying much. And the later episodes are mostly better than the earlier episodes, so the season probably seems better looking back than it is.

Gee, I wonder if they'll save Earth from complete destruction? Oh, the tension. It could be worse. I guess. There's only one or two good episodes, and lots of bad. It usually tips towards the watchable end of the Bad spectrum.

A spaceship crew forms interstellar alliances.

About half the episodes are bad, which is a pretty good ratio for Enterprise. Meanwhile, the good episodes are very good. If the show had gone on for the usual seven seasons, it might have been great by season six or so. Probably not, though. A lot of the time, the writers just don't seem to have any grasp of what makes good television.

Concept: Gee, I wonder if they'll manage to form some sort of... federation.. of planets? Oh, the tension. D
