Anne Saxelby was an illustrator, author, and cheesemonger. She was born 1981 in Dayton, Ohio and grew up in Libertyville, Ill. She moved to New York in 1999 to attend a studio art program at New York University's Steinhardt School. She illustrated 2 children's books for her mother, Pam Saxelby, mostrar más Josie the Great, and The Great Grace Escape. In 2003 after art school, she began to pursue her longtime interest in cheese. In 2006, she opened her first shop, Saxelby Cheesemongers. She wrote The New Rules of Cheese: A Freewheeling and Informative Guide, published in 2020. Great little book, ideal gift. 5* for affirming that (generally) white wine is better than red with cheese. Break out the Sancerre.
A friendly and breezy beginner's guide to the world of quality cheese. Saxelby's knowledge and enthusiasm come through, her tone of encouragement. I could've used this more years ago when I was first getting into cheese.
