I won this book through a goodreads.com giveaway and to my happy surprise, it arrived a couple of days ago in the mail. I really enjoyed the creative story line and bright, youthful illustrations. Overall, the book had a playful attitude that I’m sure both adults and children alike will be drawn to. While reading, I fell in love with the many imaginary animals that inhabit Nalah’s house, especially Mad Tooth, the mouse who lives in the sock drawer and likes to eat one of each of the pairs of socks. I’m convinced I have one of Mad Tooth’s relatives living in my sock drawer also. It is the only logical explanation for my mismatched sock problem.… (más)

I read this book in the company of my precocious three-year-old friend; he couldn’t wait to start turning the pages. The brightly colored cover drew his eyes, and that continues into the story.
He was captivated by the right from the first page, and couldn’t wait for me to turn to the next set of pictures, and giggles. He loved the dialogue as I read the text to him and kept asking questions.
The author geared this book with the deep rich colors and the dialogue to captivate the young reader, or the adult reading it. One of the friends who travels away and leaves Nalah lonely is Percival Prong the Polka Dog Pig, he lives in the bathroom sink. Now that created a speculation and questions, and a running look into our sink.
What child doesn’t love to see and hear about imaginary lands, and this one has it all with big parades and adventures to Mad Mouse City. Or making taffy and having the candy all over, including their hair, which produced lots of laughs from my friend.
I recommend you pick up this colorful read, it is sure to be a hit with your little ones, and will be requested again and again.
I received this book through Pump Up Your Book Virtual Tours, and was not required to give a positive review.

I reviewed NALAH AND THE PINK TIGER back in June of 2013, the first book for Anne Sawyer-Aitch. I was impressed with it's imagination and vivid illustrations and this one is just as impressive.

Nalah loves to pretend and she's good at it. She creates magical worlds and has fun with the characters she creates. In this story, Nalah gets mad because she seems to be in the way while her family is preparing for a party. So, instead she disappears into her secret cave and end up traveling down a tunnel in her sock drawer to Mad Mouse City where they like to eat her socks and consider her the Sock Queen.(Maybe that's where all our missing socks go!) After she returns from Mad Mouse City, things get pretty crazy when all her cousins get involved in the fun Nalah creates.

The illustrations are vivid and bright and add lots of personality to the story. The pages will make your child laugh and want to spend time looking at all the details in the illustrations. The author is also the talented illustrator using a special illuminated illustation that layers the colors, creating a batik-like design. They truly are unique and grab your attention.

If you like finding unique books for your child full of imagination, creativity, and wonderful illustrations, I highly recommend the books by Anne Sawyer-Aitch.

NALAH AND THE PINK TIGER by Anne Sawyer-Aitch is a cute, whimsical children's picture book. Nalah has a very delightful and vivid imagination, which makes some call her a "troublemaker",especially when a "pink" tiger follows her home from the Zoo. You see Nalah loves animals. What a wonderful way to encourage children's imaginations. A perfect book for 3-4 year olds, with beautiful illustrations. Well written, even us older children can not help but enjoy Nalah's antics and her imagination. I would highly recommend this title to grandparents, and parents alike to read to their little ones. Received for an honest review from the author.
