The first in an important early series by Osprey, with in-depth looks at equipment or units; in this case, a hard-fighting armoured unit of the British Army.
This is a great Osprey. It does three things well. First it chronicles the use of the Sherman in British service from the Desert, to Italy, to Europe. Then, it shares anecdotal discussion of what it was like to serve in Shermans. Finally, it provides really useful plates to show the color schemes of the Sherman in British service in various theaters. The latter also includes some great interior diagrams. Very focused, very interesting text, with excellent, detailed color plates. ; these are what make a great Osprey book… (más)
