Idiosyncratic chess book containing sentences like “somehow his conviction of the highest destiny is yet admixed with a hint of foredoom.”
½I found this books fascinating. It is not really an instructive book about chess, it is a look at how some of the great players developed and used concepts in chess. Chess is a struggle over a game board, that is what makes it endure. The mind of a great chess player is a difficult thing to delve into. This books provides a small glimpse into some of the great minds of chess.
