Super quick read about a couple who live in a home near me, high on a hill. The couple are involved heavily in faith ministry, and interspersed with raising their family, they train others in ministry. They were given the opportunity to live in a beautiful home on a hill, but after a few years, the church reclaimed it. The property owner offered the family a barn that was on the property. The couple converted the barn and the surrounding acreage to their home and gardens.
All they do is rooted in their faith. The author writes beautifully, and speaks often of her faith in God. That was a little over the top for me, however, I believe it is truly of her heart, and therefore, it works for the book.
I enjoyed reading about all the ways they converted the barn into a home, and all of the plantings and maintenance they did on the garden. I also loved how they used the wood on the land, and incorporated it around their home and land. Very resourceful! They seem to be a very loving, warm, and kind family, and believe in all the goodness and beauty of nature is given from God. Very pure and heartfelt story of their home.
