The boys are back again, and despite becoming official work partners, each wonders how their romantic feelings fit in their new dynamic, if at all.

As Ty and Zane soon find out, their forced vacation is anything but a nice escape. They're faced with extreme life and death situations, all of which solidify their trust in each other and strengthen their new partnership. It also forces them to reflect on feels they don't want to have or are too afraid to look at closely.

What's not in question is their insatiable lust for each other, and their chemistry is combustible. Actions do speak louder than words, and it's an exciting ride as we watch these two fall more for each other despite their own hang ups and reservations. Though they don't know it yet, neither stands a chance at the inevitable,and we wouldn't have it any other way.

Ty and Zane are definitely an established couple now, and it is fun, funny, and HOT to watch them interact. Despite their unspoken commitment to each other, there's nothing like a health crisis to bring out the best and the worst. This was also an acutely emotional read where the fear of losing the other paralyzes instead of propels.

What I love about this series are the small snippets of intimate, private moments that peek through. When Ty and Zane let their guard down, what they say and don't say are both equally heart wrenching and swoon worthy! There is just one thing standing in the way of complete happiness, and it makes you want to stomp your feet and scream. 5 NOT ENOUGH STARS!!


Holy. Freakin. Hell.

Warning. I know I'm biased when it comes to this series and these two characters. They were my first loves when I started reading m/m and I've thoroughly basked in and fretted over all their adventures, their wins and their losses. This absolutely was the epic conclusion they, and we, deserved.

So yes, the gas pedal was floored at about the 2% mark and it never let up until the bloody end.

What might have been missing for many in [b:Ball & Chain|17736067|Ball & Chain (Cut & Run, #8)|Abigail Roux|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1386893141l/17736067._SX50_.jpg|24813988] have no fear. There's barely time to breathe in between the laughs/sexy times/private moments. There's barely time to process the action, the suspense, the twist and turns, and crazy revelations. There's barely time to recover from the fear, the relief and then the fear and disbelief around every corner.

Suffice it to say I loved every single word and I am devastated that this is the end but totally more in love if that's even possible.

Finally Ty and Zane are on board and have come to an understanding. The satisfying result is explosively hot, tender, and intense. This was probably the best entry in showcasing how in sync these two are with each other and why they are perfect partners in and out of bed!

I would love to say that all the cards are on the table and they have nothing to hide but that isn't the case. And I have to be honest, I flinched a bit regarding Ty, knowing what I do now. Obviously his sense of duty is strong and we all know the consequences and repercussions of how this plays out. One wonders if Zane too has some big reveals in the final chapter.

I recommend reading [b:Warrior's Cross|6782412|Warrior's Cross|Madeleine Urban|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1355864076l/6782412._SX50_.jpg|6916543] first to get background history on the supporting characters Julian and Cameron. These two are the perfect foil to our MC's. As always, it amazes me when witnessing the strength of Ty and Zane's feelings for each other, and I continue to marvel at these two uber tough, alpha men showing their softer sides. In essence this had plenty of action, seriously scorching smex, and continuous swoon worthy moments - all of which should satisfy and keep you coming back for more!
