Dolores, along with Cesar Chavez, helped organize the Delano grape strike in 1965. After the strike, Dolores became a key figure in negotiating better pay and working conditions for farmworkers. To this day, Dolores continues to fight for the rights of women, children, immigrants, and the Latinx community.

A beautiful book about San Juan, the city and the culture. This book is in Spanish and English and would make a great read aloud for elementary school.

Summary: a little biography run through of Pura Belpre's life and why she did what she did. She was a librarian in New York and she noticed the lack of Spanish books in the shelves
