Another bass ackwards romance. Personal trauma from the past made it a deeper tale and is likely why I wasn’t annoyed by the pregnancy trope.

Total Ship Show by Susan Renee
Love at Sea #7

A witty rom-com that actually made me laugh is rare indeed and this one had more than one scene that did that for me. By the end of the book, I was invested in the outcome and hoped for happily ever after for Aris and Adrienne.

What I liked:
* Adrienne Hart: smart, witty, independent, good friend, knows what she wants, willing to put herself out there, creative, has a sense of humor, liked her
* Aris McElfry: physician, intelligent, witty, strong sense of self, charming, easy to know, different sense of humor, good friend, communicates well, liked him
* Learning a bit about wildlife conservation that included learning more about turtles and beavers
* The meet-cute – had me laughing big time – sparkly pink, indeed ;)
* The agreement that Aris and Adrienne came up with and how it morphed into more
* That I could see Aris and Adrienne together as a good fit not only for the week but also beyond
* The supporting characters – friends and family
* Meeting a new-to-me author I would gladly read again

What I didn’t like:
* Can’t really think of anything…

Super cute read with many laugh out loud and tearful moments. Definitely a spicy one!

I read and deleted this book in 2016, from my notes it appears I tried to read it twice. But my only memory now in 2020 is I didn't like it. It may have been the back and forth chapters that kept me going back to reread sections, or not, but that is my recollection.
