Heartbreaking and tragic, I’m Not Your Slave tells the story of a young woman who believes she is getting a new job to help start her life, but who sadly ends up a victim of human trafficking instead.

Because this was such a short book, the change that the main character took from start to end was made more striking. Things like this happen a lot in the world, and the way the author described it all made it easy to see just how these things occur.

The only thing I had a problem with was the number of flashbacks. The story was a bit too short for that to work well, and I think if the story had focused more on the present, it would’ve delivered the message it intends just a little better.

Other than that, this is definitely a well-written piece. I would recommend this to everyone who can stomach darker but eye-opening works.
