My Foot is Too Nig for the Glass Slipper by Gabrielle Reese is a nice mix of a life guide and biography. I remembered Gabby as a very beautiful athlete and model who was known for her stunning height and beauty. After reading this book I realize what a unique and amazing human being she is. I'm the book she is brutally honest and straight forward in her opinions, holding nothing back. I became reacquainted with her through fitness podcasts around her famous husband Laird Hamilton the big waver surfer and fitness guru. In her book she is extremely frank about her marriage and relationship with her husband. Likewise she pulls no punches in discussing her thoughts and challenges about raising her three daughters. I found the book to start a little slow but if you hang in it is filled with a lot of inspiration and common wisdom. Probably a better read for a woman but I really did enjoy the read.… (más)

an honest in depth opinion piece. I enjoyed her candid voice and feel an honest portrayal. I may also have identified as I am not on the short side so her issues were often familiar. I liked the comments and philosophy she uses. An upbeat read

"Guide" in the title should have been a warning that this book was written in a preachy blog-style. Luckily, I was intrigued at the library, not the bookstore.

I picked this up from the library for personal reasons, not expecting much. I was surprised at the candor and honesty, of both Ms. Reece and her co-author, and ended up enjoying the book very much, as well as gathering the information I sought regarding the social difficulties of tall women.

The book covers one season of Ms. Reece's 4-woman beach-volleyball team--a losing season, as it turned out--but also includes much bigraphical background as well as loosely delivered advice of various sorts. Fun to read and mildly interesting.… (más)
