Serial. Dubious consent. Very violent with lots of senseless death. Hard to see it as a romance. Kind of a turn off.

Really good story.
Best to read series in order, although each book deals with one couple, previous characters and couples from previous books appear and also there is an enemy threat storylines developing through the series.

No cheating or ex-drama despite some separation.
