Added from memory - this was a "bathroom reader" we had when I was growing up.

One that always could get my mom laughing until she just about wet herself (and got each of us out of many a scrape when she was mad) was -

"Lana C. LaDaug was I, ere I saw Guadalcanal."

We made up facts about Lana - she was a B-movie acress with BIG pouty lips...
(of course, you had to be there - we pulled out our lips with our fingers and spoke through them the way mom did once, when she was quoting George Bush Sr. - "Read my lips...NO NEW TAXES.")
