I felt like this book was a perfect blend of informational and fictional elements. Children can learn how or why animals have the names they do and also they are given an example of empathy and friendship as the creature figures out what his name is. Many parts of this story made me and my daughter laugh and several parts made us have "ah-ha" moments. (Moments where we learned something)

A very simple and easy to read board book for young kids. I enjoyed the simpleness of it, and think it's perfect to educate kids. The book is shaped out as the vet girl. Illustrations are basic and cute and bright. the kids are able to learn days of the week and the responsibility of a vet.

This book is very simple and teachers the student the tools and activities a racer does each day to prepare for the big race on Saturday! it's a cut out of the actual race driver, and very simple with words. The illustrations, are good not great, very basic. also it is a very sturdy board book so perfect for little kids!

Follow a dancer throughout the week. Each day of the week is a difference dance (tap dance, lined dance, ballet, hip pot and flamenco) to learn while the weekend is getting ready for a recital. The book is filled with colorful images and fun dance vocabulary. Shaped board book makes it hard for smaller readers.

Follow a veterinarian during her week at the office. Each day was a new adventure with new animals, task, and tools to learn. The book is in the shape of a person which make it hard to hold for little hands. Filled with colorful images of animals and vet vocabulary, kids will get an introduction to what it's like to be a veterinarian.

In this book from the Today I am series the book focuses on the daily life of a construction worker. Children follow Jack as he goes about his day and the various tools he uses are depicted on each page for the job that he will perform that day of the week. The book starts on Monday and each page is the next day of the week until it gets to Sunday. I like that the book is in the shape of “Jack”. I would recommend this for any child who is a fan of construction in general and any collection owning others in the series.

Today I’m a Race Car Driver is an adorable, shaped board book recommended for ages 0-3. The book is in the shape of a boy race car driver. The simple text explains the basic things a drive must go through to get ready for the big race. On the opposite pages are pictures of the equipment needed to accomplish these tasks with the words written under them. This book would work as a great read aloud for small groups and also as a great lap book.
