Born in Guildford, Surrey, in 1964, Adam Pietrowski read Chemistry at the Universities of Surrey and Liverpool, and then worked in Research and the Chemical Industry for a  number of years.

A lifelong lover of thrillers, he is a keen (target) shooter, and an avid collector of vintage film posters, especially those from the 1950s and 1960s.

He also likes hot food, warm beer, and cold desserts.
