Tanya Phillips

Tanya Phillips is a master beekeeper in central Texas, where she manages approximately 150 colonies. As owner of Bee Friendly Austin, she teaches classes at her apiary in southwest Austin and sells raw honey and hive products in several boutique shops in Austin and surrounding areas. Her apiary has mostrar más been featured in several film documentaries, TV episodes, editorials, and on websites discussing the importance of bees to the global food supply. She frequently speaks about beekeeping on radio programs and at public events. As the founder of the Travis Count Beekeepers is Association, Tanya served as board president from 2013 to 2016 and is a graduate of the first master-level beekeeping course at the University of Montana. She's currently serving as a board director for the Texas Beekeepers Association. With her husband, Chuck, she operates a nonprofit that hosts the annual Tour de Hives event to help fund bee research and beekeeper education. mostrar menos
