I saw lots of excerpts of reviews for this book on twitter, so I thought I'd give it a go.

Man, I was annoyed with the main character. He acted like a 16-yo, but allegedly he was 28, and a successful estate agent to boot. It was really painful to follow this bloody stupid young man on his journey to Marbella in Spain. If he didn't drink, smoke joints, or screwed a woman, he slept.

I wondered whether he was manic-depressive, that would explain at least some of his behaviour, especially all that sleeping.

Why four stars? For one, the narrator (Brian J. Gill) did a really good job, and then it was narrated in a way that kept me going, because I wanted to know what would happen next.

I'm not convinced that any young man aged 28, with a good education and a good career could be so very stupid, but I still didn't wish him all the nasty things that happened to him, which means, that it is really good story telling.

I understand that this is autobiographic, and something Mr Perlmutter experienced a bit more than 20 years ago. If that is so, I'm sorry, but I still think that the young Mr Perlmutter was incredibly stupid, especially for his age. He was lucky that he had the family he did have, who did everything they could to help him. But then, that's what a family is for, right?
All in all, I'm glad Mr Perlmutter lived to tell his story.

Like a slap on the back of the head... I'm not doing enough

Chapter after chapter I kept hearing that voice inside my head say, "See! He can do it. So can you. Get off your butt!" Dave tells it simply and has gotten me motivated.

David P. Perlmutter’s “Wrong Place Wrong Time” is a fascinating reading. David’s true-life book offers a recollection of a rather difficult time in his life, about twenty years ago. I was immediately drawn into the novel and felt life a friend to the author. He opened up about events that spiraled downward, and landed his in a filthy jail in Spain.

The reading experience became very real and I was able to have fun with David – enjoying the party life and array of individuals that he came across. His descriptions were vivid and burst up from the screen of my reader – from his heroic feats and trying conditions in an unsanitary jail. From the very beginning, David loops you into his world, through the good and bad decisions; in fact, you might even begin to feel like you are experiencing these events with him. There are times in the book when you will certainly become frustrated with David, yell at the words you read, or even cheer him on because his tale makes you believe that you are having a conversation with a friend. He has done a wonderful job with this true-life book, especially for a first-time writer.

Thank you for sharing your experience, David.

This is the second book I've read by David P Perlmutter, and I love his style. Although "My Way" is totally different to "Wrong Place Wrong Time", Dave is skilled at grabbing the attention of his readers. His writing is energetic, straight and to the point. When authors ask me how to promote books, I'm constantly referring them to "My Way". It's remarkable how Dave just jumped right in to promoting himself and how his books just propelled. This is a short read that is full of wonderful points and suggestions. Dave's "My Way" marketing book proves that good things really do come is small packages. I'm grateful to Dave for the share.… (más)
