A simple story concept that is oh my gawd, so well-written that CLIFF WALKING will stay in your heart and linger longer than normal.
Mother and son run across the country to the coast of Maine to escape a sick, twisted, abusive father/husband. Finally feeling free to breath without fear they befriend a well known local artist.
Long story short ...guess who shows up? Stringer, the 12 year old son, is compelled to commit murder in the midst of a crazed altercation. This book is truly a pager-turner. Stringer stole my heart......as did the author.
