Jeannette O'Toole

This is a fun version of the classic turtle vs. rabbit race. It is definitely a bare bones retelling, but still a good read and an excellent bed time story.

The picture illustrations are somewhat pedestrian (zero texture and whacky definition), but that is a design choice and one that I don' t particularly care for. What struck me about this book was the illustrator's color palette. It is vivid and jumps from the page.

The main idea hasn't changed much over the years; so long as you put out the effort, even if you lack flash, you will reach the "finish line." And you'll do so on top.… (más)
