Dishcloths to Crochet: Fun Designs to Brighten Your Kitchen! is a collection of 25 whimsical and kitschy dishcloth patterns. Included here are Cheeky Chicken, Proper Penguin and Perky Pig among others. These are previously published vintage patterns from 1982 that have been updated and revised for this collection.

The patterns are clear and well written with a picture of the finished dishcloths. This is a nice way to add vintage crochet patterns to your pattern collection. I would say these patterns range from advanced beginners and on. Some of the patterns call for crocheting with cotton thread and small hooks like size 3.25, but I could see being able to use a larger hook and regular cotton yarn for these as well. I don’t crochet with thread and anything under a size 4.00 hook myself.

I think all the patterns are way too pretty for actual dish washing use but would make great gifts and would decorate any kitchen nicely and give your decor a vintage look. There is something special about vintage anything, the nostalgia is nice.

Dishcloths to Crochet Fun Designs to Brighten Your Kitchen! by Pat Olski
Wanted to review this book because I crochet and I continaully make dish clothes as gifts and am looking for what's available now.
Book starts with a short introduction and then a gallery of desings with names and brilliant colors and shpaes. So many cute things to make. Lobster would be one of my faovites and penguin and crab-I live on the coast in New England. 25 whimiscal animals and such.
List of abbreviations and basic instructions for common things are included.
Each pattern starts out with a title, finished size, yarn required, notions, gauge, stitch glossary and how to make the stitiches then instructions for the item along with a color photo.
There is no level of expertise mentioned but with all the instructions for these dish cloths even a beginner would have NO problem making any of these.
Converstion charts for hooks are provided at the end. Super fun book now to get busy making them.
Received this review copy from Dover Publications via Netgalley and this is my honest opnion.

Dishcloths to Crochet by Pat Olski

25 whimsical patterns for colorful cotton dishcloths or potholders are provided in this book that includes easy to follow directions. The copy I received for review purposes did not have photos of the finished products but the cover was splendid so if the rest not shown on the cover are half as fun this should be a delightful book for anyone wanting to create charming dishcloths for themselves or others.

Thank you to NetGalley and Dover Press for the ARC – This is my honest review.

Yarn Whirled by Pat Olski is a wonderful step by step book on making fairy tale, fable, or folklore yarn dolls. There are lots of instructions and load of pictures. The first basic doll is step by step with close up pictures and instructions. The rest have instructions and pictures. There are so many, what a variety! I am always looking for new crafts I can try and this is something I think I can actually do and wouldn't cost a fortune. Great book! Thanks NetGalley for letting me read this book.
