Well... I'm sad to say I'm in the minority of people who didn't like this book.

I think my main problem is that I couldn't connect to the MCs or the weird way they communicated. Some of their reactions seemed so out of the blue that I wondered whether I glossed over the part of the text that could have explained them. After the third time it happened, I stopped going back trying to figure out what I missed and just went with it, but it never stopped making me feel uncomfortable.

The setting is unusual and had the potential to be very engrossing, but the writing failed to make it happen for me. The plot point that was (in my opinion) the key needed for the setting to finally "click" with me (Leon's shroom trip that made him stop questioning Sergei's version of reality) was entirely skipped, only telling us that it happened, without dwelling on the how that would have possibly made it easier for me as a reader , since it was from the point of view of someone as equally lost as I was.

The romantic plot is nothing special - basically fated mates/insta love, shaman style. The mystery could have been great, but because of all the niggles mentioned above, it failed to do anything for me.

After a while the confused state I was in while reading the book, amplified by the unusual writing, just became plain tiring. I almost gave up 80% into the book. I think it's safe to say A. Nybo isn't the writer for me.
