If you liked the first book, you'll like this one too.
Like I said in my review of the first book, these started off as Wattpad books that were then self-published.
Typical medieval, horses and swords and tribes full of alpha males and women who fall in love with them :)
it's an easy read and if you love darker romances, I suggest these series.
although i don't think the author is coming back to finish it :(

I first read this book on Wattpad wayyy back when it was still free. I remember loving the story and when the author began writing the second book she ultimately decided to self-publish and remove them from wattpad. Years later I still remembered this book and decided to buy her paperbacks. She only ever wrote two in the series, i think she might have abandoned writing them(the last book hasn't had any movement for 5yrs) which is sad bc i liked them.

I suggest looking up the trigger warnings for this series.

This is definitely a dark romance, with an alpha male that doesn't really change much from what I remember. lol. but sometimes i like that :P anyways if that's your thing i think this is an easy one to read

This is a tough read.
You can't approach it with the 21st century mind set, times were different and women had very little if no power or control over their lives.
Leawyn and Xavier are married to unite their tribes in a treaty.
Xavier is not an easy 'hero' to like, it is a fine line between a strong arrogant alpha male and going too far. The length of too far may be measured by the times they were living in and the type of men they were but at times even his brother and cousin tell him he is going too far.
Although his brother and cousin were pretty ruthless with other men and tribe leaders there is a difference when it is directed at a woman and esp when Leawyn has gained much respect in the tribe.
There may well be triggers for some readers as he is abusive for at least 40% of the book, he is obsessive, controling and harsh with her and despite his reasons, some readers will not be able to excuse his behaviour.

Namoriee and Tyronian.
Ty is a completely different type of man to Xavier from book I. He is dominant but he has a gentler approach, he has a bit of charm.
Namoriee got on my nerves to be honest, he treated her well, for the most part, esp for a woman in their time but she just couldn't accept him and this went on for so long.
I think this book gives you an insight into Xavier from book 1 as you see him from a different perspective. He is a changed man regarding his treatment of his wife but some events overlap, this is handled well, it isn't a rehash or repetitive as we find out things from a different angle and are given details of events that were not revealed in the first book.
