Cassie Wilkerson ist erfolgreich in ihrem Job in New York.

A nice friends to lovers romance. Ryan's been friends with Sarah for a while now, they're work buddies and they're great together, what's not great is Ryan has a secret crush on Sarah, but she has been drooling over Ryan's best friend Logan who's her boss. Darn.
The kicker is, she asks him to help her win a date with Logan....sucks to be Ryan! But wait a minute, if they spend more time together, maybe she'll see Ryan differently and he can ask her out. Bonus!!! Not that easy though, as Ryan is soon to find out.

An entertaining story set at Christmas time which was a nice touch.
It was fun to see how Ryan stumbled his way through, trying not to show Sarah how deep his feelings really were and hating every minute he had to help with her date.
A great, fun read, I loved it!

Just the way you love watching those shopping networks with their “Christmas in July” programming, you should nestle down with a good Christmas themed romance story and experience that loving and romantic feeling a story like that has to offer in July. The good, and with this collection you don’t get just one, you get eight well written sensual, Christmas themed romance stories, and with a price like this how can you go wrong?

As you read each one of these stories and step into the shoes of the female protagonists you might find yourself in the variety of real-life situations they’re offering.

You’ll find love existing where there had been no plans for it happening, but only if you’re willing to toss caution to the side and take a chance in obtaining it.

Can a casual fling without any commitment on either party paired with their dreams cost them a HEA they’re both yearning to have, or can the Christmas spirit of understanding and love create one for them? Or how about a situation where a rivalry between two individuals is transformed into loving one when a small ember of discovering another side of each other is made and allowed to grow.

Moving on, you’ve got to ask yourself, “What good is any anthology of Christmas themed stories if there isn’t one regarding the transformation of a Scrooge-like character into one who is caring or lovable?” And in this collection, you’re given two.

The other three stories round out some other possible scenarios: opposites being attract to each other through some unexcepted circumstances, contrasting individuals coming together to combat a mutual enemy and falling in love at the same time; and two friends being able to elevate their friendship to the next level, that of love and romance without having any fears in allowing it to happen.

The above is what the essence of each of the stories is offering its readers, and is what had made this an enjoyable reading experience for me, that I’ve decided to give collection and its authors 5 STARS.

Talk about books that warm your heart...

This book is super fluffy. Like cloudy fluffy. Or kittens fluffy. Or even... cupcakes fluffy.

Batter Up was a light and super heart-warming read for me. It's one of those book that would make you curl your toes and forget all your problems. With little sprinkle of magic and a spoonful of just pure cuteness? Batter Up can definitely conjure up some spells of happiness for you!

For those who are looking for a light-hearted and "sugar" sweet romance reads, THIS BOOK IS FOR YOU!

Also, this book has real magic! The kind of magic that can make you crave cupcakes, so beware. ;D

(Yep, that's me being lazy writing long reviews :P)

Robyn Neeley, author of Destination Wedding, comes through with another terrific Contemporary romance in Christmas Dinner. News anchor Amanda Turner returns home to Christmas loving family after a two year absence. Days before leaving, she learns the ex-boyfriend who dumped her on Christmas Eve will be there with his fiancé. Determined to show Mr. Won't Commit she's moved on, she needs a fake boyfriend fast and finds one in her co-anchor.
Tate Ryan (don't you love that name) has ulterior motives. He intends to tell Amanda that he's loved her since the first time they met. But first, he must participate in family traditions like delivering Christmas trees and cookies in the community. The road to the HEA is as prickly as a pine tree, but never sappy. Neeley balances humor, warmth and love in a way that makes you wish you could drive past Turner household and pitch in with their celebration. This is one Christmas Dinner you won't want to miss.

I receive an ARC from the author and am glad I did.

Batter Up is a lighthearted romance novel that transports the reader to the small town of Buttermilk Falls, NY, where a local bakeshop owner makes a magical cake batter that helps the local bachelors on their path to finding true love. Author Robyn Neeley weaves an entertaining tale that easily draws the reader into this feel good, fun romance novel that will leave a smile on your face.

Twenty-eight year old Emma Stevens is a third generation owner of the Sugar Spun Bakeshop in Buttermilk Falls, NY. Emma carries on her grandmother's legacy and tradition of hosting a weekly Monday night Batter Up event where she helps one lucky bachelor find his true love. Using pink sprinkles and her grandmother's enchanted sugar mixing spoon, Emma mixes the magic cake batter with a love spell that will spell out the bachelor's soul mate's first name. The love spell doesn't work for women, but Emma has a perfect three year track record where her magical matchmaking premonitions have brought all marriages and no divorces. If only Emma's magical cake batter could tell her who her true love is ... especially after her five year relationship ends when her boyfriend Michael suddenly dumps her and moves to NYC on a whim to "find" himself.

Miami Herald reporter Jason Levine is in Las Vegas for a guy's weekend with best friend Brandon Swift, a fellow reporter for the LA Times. Jason and Brandon get caught up in a bachelorette party and find themselves invited to the impromptu wedding at the Viva Las Vegas Wedding Chapel. While at the wedding, bachelor Tom Reed tells Jason about Emma's matchmaking services and the magical cake batter that brought him and fiancee Bridget Dobson together, Intrigued but skeptical, Jason decides to journey to Buttermilk Falls to expose and debunk the baker as a fraud.

Can the enchanting baker cast a spell on the skeptical reporter? Will Jason expose Emma's matchmaking skills and ruin her business? Or can a little bit of pink sprinkles and a magical cake batter help Emma and Jason find their own true love?

Batter Up is a delightfully lighthearted and entertaining romance novel with a magical twist. Author Robyn Neeley easily transports the reader to the small town of Buttermilk Falls, NY, where a little bit of matchmaking magic by Sugar Spun Bakeshop owner Emma Stevens helps the local bachelors on the path to finding true love. But when skeptical Miami Herald reporter Jason Levine hears about the cake batter matchmaking magic, he is determined to expose the enchanting baker for who she is, a fraud!

This is such a fun story that has a great mixture of drama, romance, and humor, the reader will easily find themselves captivated by the story. I loved the sassy banter and drama between Emma and Jason, I couldn't help but snicker and smile as I followed their relationship develop from comedic and adversarial to a blossoming passionate romance. And if that isn't enough to hook you in, there are some quirky supporting characters whose antics will tickle your funny bone, haunting secrets and flashbacks to Emma and Jason's pasts that will keep you engaged, yummy bakeshop magic and other foodie scenes that will leave your mouth drooling, and even a little bit of drama from a skanky childhood nemesis who provides some very entertaining laugh-out-loud moments.

Batter Up is a fast-paced easy romance novel that has everything a reader could want: a thoroughly entertaining story full of romance, magic, drama, and humor. It is a truly fun story that will leave a smile on your face.

Super, super cute story. I loved just about everything about this book. Jason and his friend were very attractive and had personality. Emma was sensitive and sweet, and her cousin was a pretty funny girl! The setting of this story was picturesque, complete with a lake, cottages, docks, etc. I could easily picture myself right there. The descriptions of food in the story was excellent. Not just the sweets from the bakery, but other food and drinks throughout the story were described in delicious detail. The romance(s) in the story seemed very authentic, and I especially liked that the author did not go into a detailed play by play of the intimate scenes. I definitely enjoyed reading this story!

If ever you’re in need of a cheering-up, sweet and funny romance, look no further than Batter Up. This romance story combines magic cake batter, delicious cupcakes and oodles of eligible, eager bachelors to whip up a story that will leave you more than satisfied! It combines elements of sweet romance, enemies to friends and a bit of ro-magic to make a page-turner that will make you smile.

It’s an odd concept, but bachelors of Buttermilk Falls eagerly crowd Emma Stevens’ bakery every Monday night. Why? For that’s the night one lucky bachelor will be picked to find out his future wife’s name – spelled in cake batter. It’s something the women of Emma’s family have been doing for three generations, but Emma only has the batter spell mastered. For everything else, she’s unlucky in love – but more than happy with her 100% success rate of happy unions. Right?

Jason is on a bachelor trip to Las Vegas with his friend when they meet up with a bachelorette party and are invited to a Vegas wedding. The happy couple happen to be one of Emma’s batter pairings. Always on duty, the journalist in Jason thinks there’s a story in this smacking of fraud. Once he arrives in Buttermilk Falls though, he starts to change his mind after meeting Emma. Add in an auction for a summer fling and a lot of time spent together and Jason might be the one for Emma. But does the cake batter agree?

This book is wonderfully fun. If you’re not ro-magically inclined, please still try it because the magic batter is only one part of the story. It’s a story of enemies to friends (and then lovers) and recovering from loss. The secondary characters are also wonderfully funny (especially Abby, Emma’s cousin and Brandon, Jason’s friend with their ‘boy/girl germs’ attraction towards each other). I hope there’s more to come from Buttermilk Falls and Robyn Neeley, as it’s a wonderful setting for many more romances, even those ones that didn’t need batter help!

Sweet and funny, Batter Up will appeal to fans of small town romances, Rebecca Raisin and Sheila Roberts. Plus, you’ll have many inspirational ideas for cupcakes!

Thank you to Robyn Neeley for the copy of this eBook via Net Galley.

Imagine having to endure a twelve hour flight from New York to Hawaii. Keeping your imagination going, add in that you hate flying. I mean, not just hate flying but that you are scared to death of flying. Throw in some major turbulence and you have the recipe for disaster. Welcome to the world of Kate Ashby. Kate Ashby is the senior wedding planner for Tie Your Knot. She has just been given the wedding opportunity of a lifetime. If she can pull off planning the wedding of Drew Cannon and Lauren Kincaid in three weeks, she will receive a commission which matches her yearly salary and is a shoe-in to become a partner at the company.

Luke Cannon is the acting CEO of JDL Toys. He is accompanying his identical twin brother Drew to Hawaii as moral support and to help him plan his wedding. Drew, for whatever reason, waits until the last minute to purchase plane tickets. Thus, he takes the only remaining first class seat and puts his brother in coach. Once Drew realizes how crazy the woman sitting next to him (Kate) is, he convinces Luke to change seats with him. When Luke switches seats with Drew, he neglects to tell Kate that he isn’t Drew. As a way to get Kate to relax he gives her alcohol and then kisses her, leaving Kate to think she just had the best kiss of her life from a man named Drew.

Once they land in Hawaii, Kate realizes that Drew is the groom for the wedding she’s there to plan. She thinks he’s scum of the earth and so the fun for Kate, Drew and Luke is just getting started.

Destination Wedding is humorous to say the least. I mean REALLY!!! A lot of stuff could have been avoided if Luke was just truthful the first time he and Drew saw Kate together. For that reason, I found this story to be irritating. I mean Luke comes up with all of these scenarios for Kate to fall for him and not Drew, but NOTHING goes according to plan. Kate just falls more in love with Drew. Add in the entertaining cast of secondary characters and you have a book worth reading.

The book went from being an enjoyable read to me really liking it. But unfortunately, the book went on longer than I thought it had to and it went back to just being enjoyable. In the end, I’m glad that I read the book.

Rating: 3.5
