Andrew H. Morton

An interesting little book that is really a series of short connected essays which link with Tolkein's compostion of "The Voyage of Earendel the Evening Star", the first draft of which he wrote while staying on a farm in Gedling, and also tells some of the story of Tolkien's Aunt Jane.

Having grown up in Gedling it was nice to be taken back to my own childhood a bit, though by the time I was there Phoenix Farm had long been demolished.
