In the story,“May I Please Have a Cookie” by Jennifer Morris, Alfie loves his mother’s cookies more than anything. He tries to think of creative ways to get a cookie from his mother, until he finally realizes that he just needs to ask politely! The moral of this story is to remind its readers that the best way to get something that you want is to ask politely. Alfie spent so much time trying to trick his mother into letting him have a cookie, when he could have just asked the first time.
