My first impression, as I began the book, was that "Kamala's Way" seemed to be as much a book about people who knew Kamala Harris as it was an indepth narrative story about her life. Perhaps that's because the author, Dan Morain, is a long-time newspaper man, that I felt I was reading a series of newspaper articles dealing with Kamala Harris. It was like a bio prepared by doing a Google search on her name and career, detailing whatever facts the Google search could produce.
Perhaps it's because Kamala is reticent to reveal too much about herself that I didn't end up getting a true sense of the woman, other than to see her as politician.… (más)
