A Sioux Indian creation story about Takanka (a holy figure) sacrificing himself for the good of his people. He changes himself into a buffalo and comes to save the Sioux from starvation. There is also a Sioux translation that accompanies the English, so that is really fun for kids.

Summary: A legend of creation of the Lakota people and how they came to be.
