I found this very formulaic and not that funny at that. It tries to hard to be hilarious and the girls rabid need to beat the guy got boring. Its ok for the genre though.

But if you want to read a shoujo manga in a school setting thats really funny altough outrageous :D read [b:Ouran High School Host Club, Vol. 01|1087204|Ouran High School Host Club, Vol. 01|Bisco Hatori|https://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1348978007s/1087204.jpg|2192688]

God, I wish I had the time to write an in depth review. I loved this volume, especially the surprising relationship between Hime and Ume. Also, I despise Hime's mother. She is simply the worst. Hime doesn't need her hot nonsense and her emotional abuse. PS. Hime makes such a cute boy. I love her crossplay moments!

Even though my exposure to the behind-the-scenes world of Japanese voice acting is limited at best, I've always imagined it to be a rather cutthroat world where only the best will do and everyone is fighting for a limited number of roles, an impression given by such series as White Album and Sakende Yaruze and REC. The latest title by Maki Minami, best known for Special A, takes an academic twist on a voice actor drama with her fictional Holly Academy's Voice Acting Department, where only the brightest and best voices can rise to the top of the class.

So far, after one volume of school hijinks and voice actor intrigue, Voice Over! is endearing and cute shojo title with a dramatic flair that will easily entice Minami's fan base and more.

You can read my complete review of VOICE OVER! volume one at my blog, Nagareboshi Reviews: http://nagareboshi-reviews.blogspot.com/

A decent enough ending to a pretty good shoujo series. Still comes off as the bastard child of Ouran High School, but it's still worth a read overall.

Honestly, this was pretty dry, but I might have thought differently if I had read this when it first came out. I’m not going to make comparisons, but I have seen other series do this premise more entertaining. I’m not all shoujo-ed out, but I just did not find anything that stood out to me in this volume. I might watch the anime instead because I do not see myself continuing to read this.

My first attempt at shojo and I'm just glad it's over with. Nothing happened!

Nothing wholly original here, but well done and quite readable.

This was ok, but I don't think I will continue reading the series.

Hikari has been obsessed with scoring higher than her school rival, Kei, since she was little. As a child, Kei was mean to her, so Hikari has made it her personal mission to one day out-rank him at school.

Although the plot seemed promising, Hikari's obsession became really tiresome. The whole volume Hikari hoped to beat Kei at something and failed. Her whole self-worth is caught up in it. I feel like nothing else happened in the story. Not a lot of comedy. Secondary characters were just there and didn't add much. They were introduced and re-introduced, but completely forgettable.

I have read a spoiler that Kei is secretly in love with Hikari, which sounds like a promising twist. Yet, just based on the first volume, not sure I'm interested enough to continue the series.

This manga really came into its own in volume 8. It resounded with my experiences in school in a huge way and i wasn't prepared for how melancholy it left me. *cries*

失恋ショコラティエに比べると若年層向けの作品であるのは否めず。壮年読者には思うことがない。½

Hikari and Kei are students at an elite school where students are split into groups. Both are in group A or as they call it Special A. Only the very best students can get in this class and Hikari is always fighting with Kei to get the top spot on Special A. The story is full of laughts and the love story between Hikari and Kei is wonderful.
