Hated older Luisa. She was just so cantankerous, ugh. Beautiful artwork. That is what really drew me in from the character expressions to the color changes. I guess the takeaway is take all your opportunities or you will end up as a grouchy 32-year-old.
After getting off the bus 15 year old Luisa, full of emotions over a huge relationship issue, finds herself lost in the future and in the neighborhood of her 32 year old self. It's emotional and beautifully drawn about knowing and healing your inner child.
This is not a "feel good coming of age story." Luisa, clearly, has struggled her whole life with her sexuality and her family, and for the 15 year old version of herself to find out this all ends in her mother's rejection , while realistic, is not a joyful moment.
The story is strong: meeting your clone/a younger/older version of yourself, would be incredibly unsettling, and even more so when it's a tumultuous time in your life, as it is for older Luisa. The art is pleasing and clear, and the emotion comes through when it needs to.… (más)

I liked the concept, but it felt SUPER after-school special by the end. And 33-year-old Luisa is such a dick towards 15-year-old Luisa. I would be SO much nicer to my younger self...
