Enjoyable, well-illustrated story about the founding of Mexico City and the Aztecs' last victory over Spain.

This book is mainly about the first battle between the Aztecs and the Spanish in the 1500s when the Spanish lost. The book had a lot of colorful pictures, but the story was short and choppy. The story tried to cover too much information in a short amount of pages. The return of Cortes and his army and the destruction of Tenochtitlan is relegated to a few pages in the back. Could be used in upper elementary(4-5)as well as in middle school(6-8).
