This book is a great book for emergent readers. There is more texts on each of the pages. The author includes many details about the different parts of the book. The author included all aspects of living on a farm. He included sights, sounds, jobs, and smells of a farm. On each page their was a real life black and white photo describing the text. I really liked this book for younger children. They are able to picture what happens on a farm. Also, they are able to picture all the animals and people. The message of the book is to never forget where you come from. The author ends the book with a description about the farm 20 years later. This helps the audience be engaged in the story.
