I visited Kiribati, Nauru and the Marshall Islands way back in 1996/97 and used this, already dated, guidebook. The trip itself was a real eye opener and the guide did its job, with Stanley's easy writing style keeping you reading even when you have no intention to visit where he is describing.

Sadly, with climate change and rising sea levels, some of the attractions listed here are either no longer above water or not that far away. And how long before all that is left of Kiribati are guidebooks like this and memories like mine?… (más)

If an award compensates the plaintiff for medical expenses and temporary loss of income only, but at trial there was uncontroverted evidence of plaintiff's pain and suffering, the failure to award any damages for pain and suffering shows that the award was inadequate as a matter of law.
