This book while it does have words it basically uses the pictures to tell the story. And I like the pictures more than I like the story. The story has very few words and is very repetitive and just overall this book does not work for me. I do like the illustrations but not enough to actually add this book to my collection.

This is suitable for adults as well as children. A happy fish brings a lot of colour and joy to an adult - especially after a hard day at work (for instance, have a read of Le liseur du 6.27 by Didierlaurent). Fish are clever too (see Balcombe's What fish know). Did Mr Fish II actually know his companion Mr Fish I in our fish bowl; did he or she think about getting old? As the very expressive and happy book says, fish certainly want their dinner and look forward to it.
