A wonderful read, full of historical details, personal memories of Bergie, and local history. This is more than just a biography of one of the Coast's unique residents - it's a tribute to the pioneer spirit of so many of those who settled here. Bergie grew up in a unique community of hunters, trappers, and loggers who pulled together to keep each other safe. Bergie herself was an amazing woman - strong, independent, and devoted to her family. Ms. Leslie brings her to life in a narrative woven through with local lore and myriad anecdotes. I only wish I had encountered Bergie myself during my years visiting here before we moved in 2006… (más)
