The prologue to this story was intense and quick paced but I never felt it was totally explained. In fact, I felt this story was a part of a novel or series of novels waiting to be told. I felt more backstory, explanation, character development and relations within the story were missing or needed to be added to make this a complete story. I did feel there was potential for this if more is added and a series is eventually provided. The writing was good…there just needed to be more.

I did not enjoy myself reading this book as much as i thought i would. It lacked a lot of clarity in the back story. I like to get to know my characters and there was no introduction at all to speak of. A short glimpse of Lilth in the past, but then we jumped into a bar and no explanation of who this other people are and the story just didn't ever come together for me.

I love the introduction of all the new supernatural characters, but i just felt that for a novella, too much was happening to fast. The storyline was't jumpy but it felt "overstuffed". I fell the author has a much bigger story to tell and should consider turning it into a novel.
