Sandstorm: A Novel por Alan L. Lee
The book jacket promised a female lead who was ruthless and highly skilled. But as soon as she appeared, she was one dimensional and stereotypically girly, crying as she asked for help from her ex lover. Poorly written, unless you're 12.

AnnaHernandez | otra reseña | Oct 17, 2019 | Sandstorm by Alan Lee is a very good debut novel. It is a thriller along the lines of those by the late Vince Flynn and Brad Thor. If you enjoy the thrillers by those authors, you will enjoy this one.
The story is about Iran's attempts to get nuclear weapons. A group of rich billionaires in the US, a US senator, and Israel's Mossad's plan for denying Iran's ability to get nuclear weapons. The book starts with the death of a CIA agent at her home in suburban DC. This leads to an attempt on the life of her protege in the CIA in Rome who received a packet on her death regarding her suspicions.
It takes a while for all of the players to get introduced in the novel. The author brings them in at the right time to keep the plot advancing in a logical manner. The story is well told without too many superhuman efforts by the characters that are outside the reasonable capabilities of belief. The author has done a good job of developing the main characters so you want to get to know them and like them. The characters are ones that you want to succeed. I can't wait for a follow on book by this author with the same characters.… (más)
