Claimed By The Bikers is a Royal Bastards MC: Tonopah crossover by Nikki Landis. This one is a Damsel in Distress taboo romance. It's a reverse-harem age gap with the FMC being 17 and the men much older. Usually, I don't enjoy books with characters underage but as I read it was completely forgotten because it wasn't made a big deal in the book.
Molly has had a crush on her besite's cousin Slash who has lived in Ohio for years. Slash has also been into her and is ready to claim her. Slash and his brothers Gunner and Havoc come to town for a visit at the same time Molly's given to the cartel to pay off a debt.
All 3 of the guys were different and because of that they all just fit with Molly as a whole. I don't think it could work unless they were all in it together. I suggest reading the Royal Bastards MC books before this one so you understand the full story. The villain in this one is also one in that series.
I gave this a 4-star rating and a 5-spicy rating. There was only one real smut scene and it was good. I definitely wished there were more after, it was so hot. The world-building in this one was expansive bringing in the Feral Rebels MC and the characters from that club. The only disappointment I had was that it wasn't longer. I wanted it to keep going. I'll definitely be reading the next book coming out.

Nikki Landis has given us another beautifully twisted character in Jeepers Creepers. It is book number three in her latest Royal Bastards MC: Las Vegas, NV chapter series. Jeepers Creepers is a paranormal insta-love story that's a twist on Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde with touch her and die vibes all over it. And let me tell you the ending Nikki wrote so damn well you will never see it coming! Usually, I can pick the hints up for twists in a book but not this one that's for sure.
Creature has been Maddog's best friend since they were kids even entering the military together. Some of the darkest times of their lives have been together. Creature vowed not to return to Las Vegas when he left but Maddogs call to come home changed his mind. He was to be the enforcer of the new Royal Bastards MC chapter, with the promise of finally getting his revenge for his mother's death.
Blair is a young woman who lives in Vegas and likes to party hard with her heiress best friend Bells. For the past few weeks, Blair has been looking non-stop for Bells since she went missing from an exclusive party they both attended. She knows Mateo Ruiz had something to do with it and going around town asking if anyone had seen her ends up with Blair getting beaten by Mateo with a warning to keep her mouth shut. Creature found Blair beaten up and needing medical attention immediately.
Creature helping Blair leads them both down a path they didn't see. Creatures other half has already claimed Blair and she him. Creature promises he won't let Blair get hurt again, he'll kill anyone that touches her. The club was on board to help her also because alot of things were happening that couldn't be a coincidence. It was time to let everyone know the Royal Bastards were making Vegas their territory.
Blair is the perfect little badass to be Creature's other half. She embraces and accepts all parts of him which is what he needed. Creature has never come to terms with his other half or fully embraced him until now. He never realized how much he was hindering himself by not doing that sooner. All of the enemies that popped up in this book did not all get taken care of so there's plenty more to come. And the chapter is still waiting for all its members to arrive. In this book only Skeletor who's the new vice president was introduced. I think he is going to be an interesting character. Skeletor's book is next with Rattlin' Bones.

Infinitely Mine is the 17th book in the Royal Bastards MC: Tonopah, NV Chapter series by Nikki Landis. Nikki has blown me away from the beginning with the way she twists the paranormal into her books but this one is the sweetest by far. She did something a little different in this one.
Mammoth finds Rowen and her son Jacob broke down on the side of the road. Jacob surprises Mammoth by already knowing who he is and telling him he was meant to help them. Jacob shocked Mammoth by knowing things about him like his friend he names Helkin cause he deserves a name. Mammoth's reaper claimed them both before he had a chance to and demanded he help them. Rowen and Jacob were on the run because Rowen was in the wrong place, at the wrong time, and knew things she shouldn't. Mammoth later finds out who Jacob's father is and realizes the club has dealt with him before. When the enemy finds them Helkin will not let them be taken. They are his.
I gave this one a 5-star rating and a 3-spicy rating. Jacob stole my heart in this book, I didn't care about anything else. I mean Helkin need I say more? Adorable! I'm glad Mammoth finally found his happy ever after since he never thought it would happen for him. The way Rowen accepted all of him was surprising but I'm glad she did. With the talents of Jacob and what he's seen I can see good things in the future for this new family. Grim Justice is next and I can't wait!

Twisted Iron is a crossover book from the Royal Bastards MC: Las Vegas, NV chapter and the Reaper's Vale MC by Nikki Landis. It's a reverse harem why choose romance. I'm an avid reader of Nikki Landis, I've loved all of her books until this one. When I heard about Twisted Iron I couldn't wait to read it and was disappointed that I didn't like it. I just couldn't connect to the book and I hate that.
The guys in the Reapers Vale MC are on a mission to take down a twisted cult to get revenge for their VP Raiden and to stop them from hurting any more children. They had everything they needed until it was taken and hid with Amelia at her bar. Amelia wouldn't hand it over so they took Henny until she did. When Henny is told the bigger picture of what is happening she wants to help the MC take the cult out and becomes an ally instead of hostage. While uncovering the truth and trying to take the cult down Henny gets close to the prez Devil, the VP Raiden, and the scary SAA Reaper. Overall alot is happening in this book at one time.
I gave this a 2-star rating and a 3-spicy rating. The characters were all interesting and intriguing and I wanted to know more about them. But no matter how hard I tried I couldn't understand this book and it just confused me so much. It could be because I've read all the books it's interconnected to like the Royal Bastards MC: Las Vegas, NV chapter but I'm just not sure. It was left on a cliffhanger so I'm hoping by reading the next book I'll be able to understand this one. This series has alot of potential in it and I'm going to follow along to see where it goes.

Talon is the 4th book in the Devil's Murder MC series by Nikki Landis. This one's a paranormal forbidden love opposites attract slow burn romance. Nikki brought us a couple of new twists to her paranormal bikers that I haven't read before and they were good! It gives me the feeling we haven't seen anything yet with what's to come.
Talon was assigned to watch Crow's sister Gail from afar to keep her safe. Gail doesn't know she has a brother or that she's in any type of danger until it's in her face. For 2 months everything was good except the more Talon watched the more he fell for her and his crow didn't care that he was told she was off-limits. Everything was revealed to Gail when Talon had to save her from the enemy her world was turned upside down and the only thing keeping her sane was Talon. With Undertaker taking more drastic steps to get what's his back the whole club is in danger and on the verge of war. The end of this book is the tipping point that has decisions being made that can't be taken back.
I gave this a 4-star rating and a 3-spicy rating. Gail is an awesome character, basically a female version of Crow, and when they finally meet, man are they stubborn and hard-headed, it's so funny. Crow finally has someone in his life who will stand up to him and isn't afraid to not listen to his orders. The connection between Gail and Talon is explosive and unlike any other in the series so far. Crow's Revenge is up next and I can't wait.

The second book in the Royal Bastards MC: Las Vegas, NV Chapter by Nikki Landis is Reckless Mayhem. It is a paranormal MC with mafia tie-ins and a phantom of the opera vibe. This was an emotional rollercoaster book that was really intense to read, you couldn't help but feel for the characters and root for them to get their vengeance that is owed. Before reading this book you need to read Manic Mayhem which is where this story starts. It is from the Mayhem Makers series and crosses over to the Royal Bastards MC.
Manic knew he messed up when he let Bianca just walk away without putting up a fight for her to stay. While Bianca was saving herself from an enemy Manic was taking the devil's ride because he was offered the chance to switch clubs and become the Las Vegas chapters S.A.A. The only thing now standing in Manic's way of having Bianca is the demons of his past that happen to be her blood. Now with the Royal Bastards and Lucifer himself behind him, it was time to take care of them so Bianca would forever be safe instead of the pawn her grandfather is using for his gain. With his Phantom now a part of him and the Reapers by his side he goes to the Huber estate to take back what is his and Biancas once and for all.
I gave this a 5-star rating and a 4-spicy rating. I enjoy everything about Manic from his traumatic childhood that turned him into the scarred shadow of the man he is today. His inner strength shines brighter than any darkness he holds inside of him. Bianca is the one who completes him bringing both sides of him together and accepting him for who he is. Nikki is starting this new chapter off with a bang and I can only see it getting better!

Spook's Possession is a part of the Royal Bastards MC: Tonopah, NV Chapter by Nikki Landis. It was originally published in the Royal Harlots MC Anthology. Spook's Possession is a halloween themed paranormal second chance romance written over a 3 year time period.
Heather is Jigsaw's cousin and when she was young she was kidnapped until the club saved her. She's lived with that trauma her whole life without getting help for it. One halloween she saves Spook who was being jumped by 3 brothers and they had an instant connection. Spook was being hunted and had been on the run for years. Meeting Heather changed his life and he instantly fell in love. When Spook's past catches up to him the club helps him by sending him away for 2 years. When Grim brought him back he got 1 night with Heather before everything fell apart again. When Georgia calls for help to save her daughter Heather and Spook finally get a chance to be together. And after everything they've had to overcome that was trying to keep them apart they deserve the chance to be together and happy.
I gave this a 4-star rating and a 4-spicy rating. With Spook and Heather's pasts and all the trauma they've both endured since childhood they are undeniably connected down to their souls. The commitment they have for each other and want to be together in stronger than anyone knew it could be. Like Heather's tattoo says "Not all who breathe live. But all who rise breathe again."

Hell On Wheels is the 1st book in the Royal Bastards MC: Las Vegas, NV Chapter by Nikki Landis. This chapter also has a paranormal twist like so many of her MC series do. The way Nikki describes in words the paranormal scenes in her books is like none other. She writes a complete detailed clear picture you can see in your mind like your watching a movie. It's one of the many reasons I love her books so much.
In this book, we meet Maddog, a veteran who ends up in trouble trying to do the right thing. He's had a hard time with PTSD since leaving the service and if it wasn't for his service dog Kane he wouldn't have made it. The bond between them is the definition of a man's best friend. When Maddog saves Lark from Angel Mackenzie he takes her to Patroit in Tonopah for help. What he didn't know was that Lark was with Angel for a reason. She's been undercover working with her FBI brother Torin for the past year trying to find their little sister Molly who was sold by their dad Fred. Maddog makes the decision to join the MC and take the Devil's Ride after Kane is hurt trying to protect Lark. Except things don't go as planned when Lucifer shows up. Maddog isn't meant to be a reaper in the Tonopah chapter. Lucifer has other plans for him and he's going to be the president of the new Las Vegas chapter and as a gift, he will be bonded with Kane's spirit so he's always with him. Maddog is even given a list of names of who to recruit for his officers. Will Lark ever find Molly? Can Maddog and Lark make this new transition together?
I gave this a 5-star rating and a 3-spicy rating. I think of this book as a gateway book bringing us a new chapter of the Royal Bastards MC, introducing us to the Feral Rebels MC, and adding in the Devil's Murder MC. With trouble still heading their way this book opened the door for multiple storylines and I can't wait to read them. We've gotten reapers, animal spirits - crows, shifters, shadow riders, hellhounds……what's next?

Jigsaw's Blayde is the 15th book in the Royal Bastards MC: Tonopah, NV Chapter series by Nikki Landis. This was an intense second-chance romance read with some unforeseen twists. Before reading this book I recommend reading Viciously Mine first because the events in this book start in that one.
Jigsaw is a legacy child that was born to become a Bastard. When Abby was young she moved in across the street from Jigsaw and became best friends with his cousin Heather. Abby knew she loved Jigsaw since she met him and they finally got their chance. Due to trouble with club enemies, Abby was hurt and her father saw the opportunity to keep her and Jigsaw apart and took it. Abby kept a secret from Jigsaw though after being hurt by him abandoning her. She grew up to be the reporter she dreamed of being and Jigsaw followed her career the whole way. Abby starts investigating a story that the Royal Bastards have something to do with and she chooses to help them, giving them information they need. It gets Abby in a world of trouble and when Jigsaw finds out she's missing he's determined to find her. Everyone's secrets come out after that and they all realize they never knew the bigger picture with the forces that were working against them. But Jigsaw's Reaper has claimed his family and he's never letting them go again.
I gave this a 4-star rating and a 3-spicy rating because I loved where this book took us in the series story. Nikki hasn't stopped being able to throw twists and surprises in it that we didn't expect. Making the story coincide with the Devil's Murder MC series especially Hawk's book is a bonus for me. I really enjoy the way Nikki writes her characters with their paranormal perks in a way that doesn't dehumanize them. They (minus Azrael and Diablo - duh face paint!) could be your everyday human with their personalities that you'd never automatically assume they were different than anyone else in the world. To me, it's what makes this series so awesome! I can't wait to see what's next to come.

Viciously Mine is the 14th book in the Royal Bastards MC: Tonopah, NV chapter by Nikki Landis. This is a traumatic and sweet Valentine's read about Azrael and Chrome. Before reading this I suggest reading Shannon Youngblood's Leather and Chrome to better understand this story.
In this book, Chrome and Cameron are moving to Tonopah to be with Azrael. Chrome has transferred chapters and chosen to make his deal with the devil. The trouble that the club is having with the Russians also includes Chrome and it stems back decades. Azrael and Chrome are twins who were separated at birth. In this book, we learn that they aren't just connected from being twins but their Reapers appear to be also and it's a very good thing for them. Cameron is trying to get over what happened to her and Chrome thinks moving somewhere new for them to start over will be good for them until trouble still finds her. The club doesn't know who it is yet but they are getting help from a reporter who wants to take down the same people they do and informs them of an enemy they didn't know fully about. You'll learn who the reporter is in Jigsaw's Blayde. Even though all the danger they face life changes for everyone involved and the club sees new life on Valentine's Day and that couldn't have been a better ending.

"Give me new memories to replace the bad ones. Fill my head and my heart with love so I can put the past behind me and focus on our future." -Cameron

I gave this a 4-star rating and a 3-spicy rating because of how giddy it made me reading about Azrael and Chrome together finally. I loved how you would never be able to tell they didn't spend their whole lives together. They really are 2 halves that make a whole. Azrael is my favorite from this series and seeing him finally have his whole family together with him to welcome new family was heartwarming. I can't wait to read what happens in Jigsaw's Blayde after how this one ended!

Santa Biker is book #13 in the Royal Bastards MC: Tonopah, NV Chapter series by Nikki Landis. I have been waiting for this one for a while now and I'm so glad it was told as a Christmas story because it made it more special. As we've learned now the Tonopah chapter isn't what it seems and this series has a paranormal twist to it in Nikki Landis style.
Santa Biker finally brings us Diablo's story and I've been waiting for this since reading about him in Praying For Thunder by India R. Adams. Diablo is the club's cleaner and tattoo artist. In his life, he has lost more than any man ever should and it leads him to make a deal with the devil himself. He never thought he would find love again after losing Anita and Thunder but then he met Gina and her 2 kids Rev and Olivia. Gina took her kids to escape her abusive ex and was on the run with her kids until she landed in Tonopah and met Sasha. The club took her in as one of theirs and she caught Diablo's eye immediately. When a threat comes in against her he swears his protection and it gives him a chance to get closer to her and her kids. Diablo even gets to be Santa for the kids which is beyond sweet.
I gave this one a 4-star rating and a 3-spicy rating because of how the story was told. It was told in the present with flashbacks from Diablo's past which gave the entire picture of his story. For Christmas Diablo was able to get a family he's been wanting for years and reunite with his son and Gina finally got to see what a real man is and her children got the Christmas they have always deserved. I'd say everyone got their Christmas wish. I recommend reading India R. Adams Praying For Thunder to be able to understand this story better. Her character Thunder is Diablo's chosen son and knowing what happened with him and his Ani will help you better understand Diablo and his need for a family.

Devil's Ride is the 4th book in the Royal Bastards MC: Tonopah, NV Chapter series by Nikki Landis. Nikki has put a twist on her Royal Bastards MC chapter by throwing some paranormal into the mix. This book is an intense read with love and spice, sadness and heartbreak, violence and abuse, trauma and trafficking. It takes place in the past and the present. A heads up this is a dark romance with triggers so be warned.
This book is about Grim, the President of the Tonopah chapter and the original reaper of the club. When Trish was 10 years old she found Grim dying on the side of the road. He met his angel and made a deal with Lucifer himself all in his dying breath. They didn't see each other until 18 years later when Trish is bartending at the Blacktop bar that the club goes to. Trish has not had an easy life and little do they know they have the same enemy, The Bloody Scoprions MC. When Trish's cousin goes missing she goes to Grim to get help to find her and stays at the clubhouse to be safe. They got closer during that time and his reaper made his choice for them both.
I gave this a 4-star rating and a 4-spicy rating. I loved Grim's character and the entire story about the Reaper. Trish, I'm not sure whether I like so much or not. In the end, I liked her better but not in the beginning or middle. She went to Grim for help but didn't even tell him the full truth, who does that? I can't wait to read the next one in the series.

If you've ever wanted to read a hit song as a book then Hawk is for you. This is the 3rd book in the Devil's Murder MC series by Nikki Landis. She has taken this summer's hit song Wait In The Truck by Hardy and Lainey Wilson and turned the lyrics into a story. I will say that this can be read as a standalone but it will be hard to understand parts of it since this storyline happens at the same time as book #2 Raven so I highly suggest reading that one first.
This story starts out as the song Wait In The Truck does with Hawk finding an abused woman stumbling down the highway and he picks her up. Then goes and takes care of the man that abused her before ending up in jail. They stay connected and when the girl disappears her sister Callie meets Hawk after working at the mayor's office to find clues about her sister's disappearance since she knows he's involved somehow. Hawk became Callie's protector when he had to protect her from the Dirty Death MC an enemy to both of them. When Hawk finds out Callie's sister is the girl he went to prison for avenging he knows he has to help find her and keep Callie safe at the same time. They felt an attraction towards each other immediately and it built the longer they were together. Do they find Callie's sister Sadie? Will they acknowledge what they feel for each other?
I gave this book a 5-star rating and a 4-spicy rating because it's a beautiful love story built out of a tragedy and Hawk really is an admirable man for what he did. I loved the new paranormal/supernatural twist revealed in this book. We already knew there were crows but now those crows have to face something else. To me, Hawk is the best in the series so far but I could be biased because I love Wait In The Truck but I can't wait to see what Nikki has to us next. Talon's book is next in the series.

I have read some of the best paranormal romances by Nikki Landis and this one is no exception. Raven from the Devil's Murder MC is the 2nd book in the series. It starts right from where the 1st book Crow ended. This book is about a couple with an age gap that fate keeps throwing together until they realize that maybe they're supposed to be together.
Raven, the VP of the club has had a hard 10 years. First, he lost his son, and then a few years later his wife. He also met Brianna when she was 16 and had to save her from dying in a car wreck and that was just the start. Every time Brianna's found herself in the worst trouble Raven always shows up to save her. This time is no different. Brianna was trying to do the right thing to help some girls that have gone missing from their town but she doesn't realize the danger she puts herself in until it's too late. Raven had made it a point to stay away from her for the last 5 years because he thinks he's wrong for her but as soon as he sees her he knows he's mated. Brianna was always the smart responsible sister that never dated the bad boys but Raven has her finally wanting her to break the rules. The club knows they have to get revenge for what was done to Brianna and when they start investigating they realize it's connected to what they're already working on.
I gave this book a 5-star rating and a 4-spicy rating. I immediately wanted Raven and Brianna to find love. The traumas that they each went through pulled at my heartstrings and knew they each needed a win. We also see a couple of guys from the Royal Bastards MC: Tonopah series when theirs a bit of a crossover which I loved. With how this book ended I can tell there's a lot more to come from it and I can't wait. Hawk's book is up next and I'm sure it's going to be just as good. This book can be read without reading the 1st in the series however if you want the whole backstory you'll have to read book 1 Crow before this one.

Sin's Betrayal was one steamy age-gap romance by Nikki Landis in her Ravage Riders MC series. This was book number 3. If I hadn't already read the other 2 books in the series I'm not sure if I would have liked it as much as I did. It was a quick read with twists, being forced into close proximity, surprises, betrayal, violence and a paranormal twist. Without reading the other books you would be able to tell there was anything paranormal about this book.
Sin's Betrayal is about Mack who's the President of the Ravage Riders MC and he's a man with a bad reputation for violence which isn't a lie. People fear him and they should. She's been attracted to Charlotte, whose Cara sister, for a while but looks at her like she's too young and innocent to have anything to do with him but little does he know. She's attracted to him just as bad and isn't as innocent as she appears to be. Theirs a bad girl inside her and she wants to come out to play anytime Mack is around. His club SAA Valan has a thing for her to but he doesn't even notice she's not interested in him. She only has eyes for Mack. When another club tries to invade the Ravage Riders territory, the club goes on lock down which means Charlotte and her daughter have to stay at the clubhouse and when that happens theirs no denying the attraction between the 2. Things get hot and heavy fast and he knows he's going to be keeping her.
Charlotte thought she left the bad girl life behind her when she got pregnant and had no dad to help raise her until she runs into him years later. He tried to tell Mack that she was his and he staked him claim which set off a whole chain of events. If I say anymore I'll give away spoilers so I'll just say Charlotte is lucky she has Mack and the club at her back when trouble comes. Mack vows he will protect Charlotte and her daughter no matter what and he sticks to his word.
The ending of the book is a cliffhanger. An important member gets hurt and we won't find out what happens until hopefully the next book. And I hope that one doesn't feel rushed like this one did. And she finally brings out the paranormal I've been waiting for and explains it better than it has been. I would definitely suggest reading this book after the first 2 and you like when a silver fox gets the young lady. Will Mack finally get happiness or will he end up heartbroken again?

Haunting Chaos is another amazing book by Nikki Landis in the Royal Bastards MC. The imagination and creativity she puts in all her books is especially in this one. Chaos is Lucky's new road name given to him by Lucifer himself. The start of the book was a tear jerker when Lucky hit rock bottom thanks to an act of revenge. The only thing keeping him grounded is his baby daughter and what an amazing Dad he is even while going through hell. Skyla is his saving grace and the part of his soul he was missing. They were never supposed to be together, she was just supposed to be helping him with his daughter and warming his bed at night. But like these things go a connection forms for both of them. Skyla has secrets of her own and they definitely come out in this book making her and Chaos realize how connected they really are. When Skyla finds out Chaos' secret, she accepts him without question and I think loves him even more. Chaos gets his revenge and his ride or die. Definitely an HEA book!

Authors warning 'This book contains dark and mature content, human trafficking, and violence with a paranormal REAPER twist.'

Eighteen years ago the Scorpions captured and tortured him, and killed his President and brother, Keys and Lockjaw. Dexter Langford made a deal with the devil and has been Grim, the Reaper ever since. For the past eighteen years he and his MC have been reapers, harvesting souls for the devil.

Trish Holloway was only ten when she first met Grim and neither of them ever forgot the other. She hasn't had an easy life, trying to care for a dead beat dad and avoid her stalker of a step-brother.

When Grim walks into the bar Trish is working at they instantly reconnected and were in bed a week later. But the danger surrounding the MC jeopardizes everything they were starting to build.

I loved the start of this book and even though things were happening lightning fast it was still working for me, until things took a turn. Sacrificing details to accelerate a story has it's place, until the lack of details and the unexplained time jumps become too much. I wanted Trish to trust and have faith in Grim but she was a runner, doing TSTL things making her annoying rather than the heroine I wanted. It also bugged me that after eighteen years the reapers still hadn't secured vengeance for their murdered president.

As they say the devil's in the details, unfortunately most were missing in this book. Great ideas, interesting characters but needed better execution.

I received a free copy of this book and I'm voluntarily leaving a review. If you like my reviews I hope you will follow my blog. https://wyldheartreads.wordpress.com/

So, take a little touch of paranormal romance and whole lot of MC romance and you end up with this book. The PNR aspect isn't heavy so if you aren't all about the PNR, you're fine.

Rael and Nylah have a really interesting storyline, and it isn't one that is necessarily easy on either of them. I mean, once they work it through, everything is good for them, but their first meeting includes her punching him, so yeah.

I like the fact that the story isn't just Rael and Nylah, but that we also get to see Trixie and Patriot. I would like to see more of their story, for sure.

Born into darkness, Ari craves the light. As a demon, she shouldn’t crave the presence of a human, but when she follows one who is being mugged, she finds herself stepping in to save him. She can’t help the draw that feels to him and knows that that pull will doom them both.

This was a cute paranormal retelling of the Little Mermaid. Definitely dark and twisted, but that was what made it all the better! Definitely a page turner.

The mysterious appearance of three immortal men, deepen the mystery even further. Damian, the sexy yet annoying vampire, Gabriel, the hot Lycan, and Ryder, the strong and handsome Ghoul are here out of debt to her family. Here to protect her - but from what? Or from who? As the unseen threat gets closer, causing harm to those she loves, she has no choice but to confront it head on. Can she and her mixed army of immortals put an end to this, or is this evil force too strong for even them to defeat?

I. Loved. This. Book!! I loved Damian, Ryder, and Gabriel - the banter between them is hilarious. But, all three of them are totally devoted to protecting Cassie, and dare I say in love with her? There's something definitely brewing below the surface between Cassie and her protectors! This is book 1 so expect there to be loose ends. But, it will just make you want to dive in to book 2!

Appropriately gruesome little horror tale with an interesting, hellish cosmology and a well-drawn cast of demons, dark entities and tortured souls. Good writing and a nicely twisted plot. *I was given a free copy in exchange for an honest review.*

'The Gift,' by Nikki Landis is a Romance novel with strong Mystery and Paranormal mix. Instant themes of love and death are revealed, which help to fuel this incredible novel.

Twenty-nine year old Gemma Harding helps souls to cross over once they have passed on. Pu simply, she 'transitions' the dead. When sixteen year old Katie Murphy's spirit comes to Gemma one night and disappears soon after, Gemma is worried that the girl has been murdered. With her suspicions being confirmed a few days later, Gemma endeavors to help the local police to find Katie's body and her murderer.

I finished 'The Gift' in one sitting, staying up until one am, just so that I could find out who had committed the dreaded act. I could not put the book down until I knew. It became an infectious read that drew me in more and more as I read. There was a delicious urgency about the story. Its fast pace and clever writing hooked me from the first page and proved to be an incredible read.

The book was witty, humorous, and the characters were deep, particularly Gemma, whom I connected with on an emotional level. I'm not usually one to gush over fictional relationships, but the romantic side between Gemma and Victor had me pining just as much as Gemma for the majority of the book. I adored their relationship and found Victor to be a very complex and mysterious figure.

I could gladly sit in companionable silence with Gemma Harding for the rest of my life. I would recommend this novel to just about anyone above the age of sixteen. A great read for those lovers of crime, romance, thrillers, and the paranormal. A solid 5/5 star rating.

I was given an ARC in exchange for a honest review. This book is an edgy dark super villain fiction romance story with elements that may remind you of fan fiction retelling. (although the author definitively states it is not fan fiction).

But to readers (and at the off chance of stoking the author's ire...)
if it walks like fan fiction and reads like fan fiction....its probably... well... you know. There is consensual and barely consensual sexual content, aspects of mental disorders and brutal violence. This story may contain triggers so reader be wary. This book and review are written for 18+ readers.

This is my second book by this author.

This story starts off with our main character Harleigh about to celebrate her 25th birthday. A self professed die hard Harley Quinn fan. She dresses up like her and basically emulates her idol from head to toe. She even fantasizes about meeting her perfect Joker. Someone as broken as her but totally devoted. Everyone dreams of a bad boy right?!

The author warned me that this book was dark.
It is.
But not in a way that leaves you covered in its aftermath like some stories. Shaking in a corner with your knees up rocking back and forth. My advice? Just go with it.

The characters are scarily well developed in all their heinous psychotic glory and though this a dark fiction it is also a romance story, because hey...everyone needs love. You will find yourself wanting to compare the characters with well known super villains but I think you will find this story is a new take on an old franchise. It's just different enough to etch out its own niche existence of super villains and possibly heroes. I liked the premise and its a good read and I would definitely tell you to go get your own copy and step into the world of Volatile Vixens.

Sins of the Father. It was well written, had all the right elements to a great story line and there were more secrets and danger than should be allowed to be packed in one book. I was constantly holding my breath as danger seeped in with calculated accuracy from every side. I mean these poor characters never got a break.

The book told a complete and very satisfying story and did not leave me with a freaking ridiculous cliff hanger....I love to hate those. Don't you?! I got what felt like a realistic view of MC life.
Every question was answered in a big reveal. All of the characters were distinct; the character development was on point. The element of danger lingered throughout the story like a relative who didn't want to go home. The sex was doled out appropriately and fit the age that the characters were.
Sins of the Father was a really good book. I am going to read the next book in the series when its available.... because...hey...aliens?! I do love my paranormal.
