A nice read overall about some personal stories. Even though I am not a Wiccan, hearing the personal stories of various Wiccans from various traditions and backgrounds reminding me a good amount here and there of my own upbringing and the winding road that slowly has become my own path. A good book filled with the personal stories of various somewhat famous and infamous people, including Raymond Buckland, Timothy Roderick, Silver RavenWolf, and Raven Grimassi among many others. Each summarizes over their childhood and what early influences they had which helped sway them towards their path, as well as over their experiences in the path itself, and any specific discrimination/challenges they have personally faced over the years. In general, a nice read.… (más)

I actually love the Shapeshifter tarot, it's one of the only decks that I do connect with. The book of course is to accompany the deck and while I dont follow to a tee what the book interprets, as tarot goes, it's just a medium to bring out meanings, it was close and it is a beautiful deck.

This is not exactly a new book but a copy came into my hands a few days ago and I found it too good to let pass without a mention. It tells us a little more about 14 of the well-known names we find on library shelves. There’s Z. Budapest, who ‘reclaimed Women’s Mysteries from the mists of time’; Ray Buckland, who took the Gardnerian Craft to the United States and then went on to found Seax-Wicca; Silver RavenWolf, whose To Ride a Silver Broomstick is still very much in circulation after all of two decades; Phyllis Currot, the Ivy league lawyer who came out as a Witch in New York City; and others including Sirona Knight herself whose story is well worth reading and thinking about and then reading again.

I'm not a big spell fan, so many of the Pagan/Dianic books consisting mostly of spells don't really interest me. However, the value of this book -- for me -- is the collection of associations and references Sirona Knight offers. It's brief but useful -- moon phases, days of the week, deities -- and offers a lovely springboard for anyone interested in dream magic (or even simply dream meditation).
