Biografía breve
Kathleen Moore Knight wrote 38 crime novels during the "Golden Age" of detective fiction, some of them under the pseudonym Alan Amos. Her books were popular and staples of Doubleday’s Crime Club. Many of them are written in the style of what Ogden Nash called the Had-I-But-Known School. She began her literary career in 1935 with Death Blew Out the Match, the first in a series of books featuring amateur sleuth Elisha Macomber on the fictional Penberthey Island off Cape Cod, Massachusetts, where the author lived.
The tone is mildly humorous, recalling the works of Phoebe Atwood Taylor, another Cape Cod writer. Other books were more focused on adventure and romantic suspense in exotic settings such as Central and South America.
She also wrote four classic whodunits starring Margot Blair, a New York City publicist turned amateur sleuth.

A great twist in the end - slightly creepy, too.
