House of Leaves is about a little girl named Sarah who gets caught in the rain and finds shelter under a roof of leaves along with some friendly critters. Sarah is intrigued by her little "family," as she calls them, in the little house of leaves. When the rain stops, sarah runs back to her real house to her mother. Sarah embraces all of the different critters while sharing cover from the rain. The art is somewhat framed on the page. It does not use up the whole page but is not framed with any lines. Each left page contains the words, while the right page illustrates those words.
