This text is a solid introduction into the theory of signals and (linear) systems from an engineering perspective. It treats all types of Fourier transforms thoroughly and mainly thinks of systems as a convolution operation in the time domain (or, equivalently, as multiplication in the frequency domain). The first half of the book is about continuous-time signals and systems; the second half then makes the connection to discrete-time signals and systems.

The book does not contain any exercises and only contains a few applications of the material to practical examples. The algorithms that are discussed are often based on (straightforward) convolutions and/or Fourier transforms and thus do not seem terribly efficient.

A few proves are given. However, the book often lacks mathematical rigor and symbolic manipulations are abundant. For some reason it covers stochastic signals but then does not mention stochastic systems whatsoever.
