The illustrations are excellent but I don't think I get the conceit of this book. It's a fictional adventure with tall-tale stories that feature certain aspects of physics discovered by Newton, Halley, and other early scientists, but the book doesn't differentiate between fictional and fanciful in any way so it's not clear how a child should learn from it. Which would be fine if it weren't meant to be educational, if it were just a silly story. But the publisher bills it as "the perfect introduction for curious children to one of the great figures of scientific history." The character of Newton in this book bears no resemblance to the painfully reserved man.… (más)
